I have a question... you can summon an Ethereal, but what else can it do? It can attack, and move through things.
It has NO defense, so ANY hit kills it, right? Can it carry items as it moves? If there is a treasure in a spot that isn't easy to get to (like across a ravine), can the ethereal move and carry it?
Can the Ethereal move into a door, examine a room an report back to its master with the findings?

Most players would probably just use it to attack monsters to keep them occupied, while the heroes fight elsewhere. Because it has no defense any hits will kill it. However . . . It is a summoned Monster that is controlled by the player. So it can do anything that a normal character can do, provided it has the stats to do so (It cannot open locked chests as it has a 0 DEX stat). The other things you mention like carrying objects or inspecting a room, are not covered by the rules specifically, so would need to be discussed with your players. So long as everyone is happy with what you decide, then play that way, otherwise use a die roll to decide. The idea is to have fun!! ;D

Ok. I am ALL about fun, but I have some players in my group that will try some off the wall things, and I am just planning for EVERY contingency. Thanks for the feedback! I LOVE this game the more I dig into it.
