Hey all I have begun designing the Badger and the Armadillo (with much help from Shaun!) And I thought I would post a few pics of the first vanilla Badger build. The turret did not come out large enough so that is getting redone, but I am pleased with the rest of the build. After the quick turret edit I will be moving on to artwork.

Looks very good! I am a bit dubious about the lower structure.
I am wondering whether a bulkier look may be more suitable, especially with those chunky tyres. I have attached images with a cubic and diametric bottom for your perusal.
Another solution for the original hull shape, perhaps you could look at adding some mudguards to bulk out the vehicle??

HAHA Actually that is how I originally designed it but I wanted something more like all terrain looking I still have the original design. It is not seen much but it does have an axel under there and the wheels actually touch the top of the bottom of the casemate and some glue would help stablize it more.
However the original was much more stable.
Mudguards are cool I was thinking of also adding some other 2d bits, exhaust, antennae, etc.

Today I had a little spare time, so I decided to start on the Badger. I didn't get far in the time available, although the wheels have been completed to first draft. The Splatball figures have some really soft shading that I wanted to keep in the vehicle components. The tyres required a bit of heavier shading to give them the all terrain shape. I also tried to keep the same colors, although I added another shade of each team color (Blue/Red) so that I could create some depth to the finished models.
The Chassis will be a little more difficult to complete. I am looking at adding vision slits and some deflective armour to the front. Hatches to the side and some extra details to the back. These will be printed on the chassis surface for a quick build but extra pieces will be available to create a 2.5D surface for those who have the time. The turret should look cool just as it is, although it may get a radio aerial.

Tires look great Shaun! ;D
For those that do not know I turned over artistic control of the Badger and Armadillo to Shaun. Between lack of time and my 3D suckiness. I thought he would do a wonderful job with them.
Shaun I am really lookig forward to the final product complete with 2.5D parts. That is something I always wanted to add! Antennae, exhaust pipe?, and other cool little bits!

You probably don't get this show in Australia; www.cartoonnetwork.com/tv_shows/knd/It's called "Codename:Kids Next Door" - secret agent ten year olds using their secret 2x4 technology to create gadgets and gizmos. Perhaps the vehicles could be made out of scrap lumber that's been nailed and lashed together?

The design of the vehicles are varied, the ones built by Newt are cutting edge fantasy technology. Many designs predate Newt and are just as reliable so they continue to be scratch built by both teams. These are your typical use what ya got, imagineering vehicles.

Well had a bit more scavenged time this morning, so decided to clean up and muck around with the Badger Chassis. The turret that I originally had, didn't assemble that well. I decided to go with something a bit more prominent that would fit the Albright Mk-III Heavy Splatmarkers better. It also has a bit more of a fast mean look to it.
I found myself going for a slightly mechanical look in the style, but tried to avoid armor plating, as it is a paintball vehicle after all. Despite that, I decided vision slits were more appropriate than a windscreen. Theoretically a well aimed shot could still blind the occupant, but it is less likely (By the way vision slits still have glass!)
I have added some mud guards with step plates for the two rear hatches. It does have an aerial position and exhausts, but I will see how they look when the vanilla is complete.
Any comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Ok Here are some photos of the finished Blue Team Badger. The first few are without the mudguards (for a ATV style vehicle) The next have the mudguards which make it look more modern.
