To reduce the number of tiles required for DP, I have decided to supply a standard set of base tiles. Hopefully only a few 'Unique' tiles will need to be provided for Adventures rather than a complete set. One of these designs is what I would like to use. The color needs to be neutral, which is why I went for the grey/biege scheme. Adventure tiles can then use other colors fairly easily to add variety. I have also tried adding some shading to the designs but I still want to keep the 'cell' style of the original sets. Any other suggestions or comments would be appreciated!

I voted for both first and third, but;
I really prefer the third. It is very nice in caverns and dungeons. It's just that I like the first as flooring in buildings and cellars...

Well it looks like the third design is the way to go! I will start creating the new tiles straight away.
Thanks for the votes and the feedback. It is greatly appreciated!!!

Wow that was aquick and short consultation period!! Didn't get chance to vote, but I would have echoed Bryn's comment and vote regarding nos 1 and 3. The middle one just made my eyes go all funny, all I could see were the crosses Ok so when logged on using my home pc the vote is still open........strange...... I voted for number 1 and number 3, for similar reasons to bryn

Sorry! I wasn't certain that anyone else would make a difference and the poll seemed to be such a landslide in one direction.
edit: I re-opened the poll

I agree with Bryn here, the bottom set is probably the best general set, but the top look good for more 'townie' places. Maybe reversing the colours on the flags and dirt, of the bottom set. Giving a cleaner look to building floors ala GW DFP. Grey = dirt = Dungeon, Beige = 'clean' = building. Then again I suppose buildings could be 'unique' tiles. Either way they look excellent. I also voted for 1 and 3

Well It definitely seems #3 will be used for the Dungeon tiles. There is a possibility that down the line a second set of tiles will be released for buildings. The main thing I wanted to avoid was having a huge pile of tiles where some were only used once or twice and then never used again. It may be worthwhile having two or three different sets of standard tiles for the different aspects of Adventuring. I will now be changing the colors to make them all distinct (Thanks Mahotsukai). As a side note, I have also created the DP Title Logo. I hope you like it!

Excellent logo!
I voted 3 as well earlier. Nice and clean with enough roughness to show it's a dungeon. Different colors would add to this. JIM

I am glad you all like the logo. I noticed the style of One-Monk's Font for his DP figures and tried to find something similar. The icon graphic was added to give it some color.
Well all the tiles are complete. The Standard Dungeon document came in at 15 pages, but that includes 14 hallways, 4 standard rooms, 2 special rooms, an Entrance room, 6 locked doors, 6 open doors, 3 great doors and 18 chests. All of the graphics is redone - not because the old graphics wasn't good, but I wanted to clean up some bits and also make the parts easier to cut out (I removed some of the outer detail on the doors and chests!)
The Demon tiles come in a 2 page document which includes a Demon Great door, Demon tower room and 3 Demon special corridors. (All in a different color)
The Orcish Raider tiles come in a 5 page document which includes 2 new Orc rooms, 2 Orc Boss rooms, 2 Orc Great doors and 6 Orc Cell doors. (Again all in a different color) Depending on how much time I have, I might add the extra Orc tiles from my campaign game into the mix. It just depends on whether people want the re-write sooner rather than later.
However I am pleased that the Base sets are complete, ready for the rules.

As soon as I complete the re-write of the rules and Adventures. Unfortunately, the new tilesets are not backwards compatible, due to the reduced number of Tile types used in the re-write.

Amongst recent PMs I received a request for white border tiles to reduce ink costs. A brilliant idea that I have implemented and will probably use myself (only because I end up printing things out multiple times as test prints!) So there will be a choice of black or white border tile designs. (And they will be interchangable!)

I don't know if this has already been discussed, but it would be cool to have some hex cave tiles in the same style. You can one side flat to interface with the corridors, but them go to town making winding hex cave passages. If you don't do it I may just grab your designs and make them myself. Although, I don't know if this would muck up the rules if designed for a grid. JIM

The idea of hexes can still be roughly represented with squares if you were to use an offset grid. I played some board game a long time ago that did this...I can't remember what it was, but the way it is set up still results in each square being surrounded by six squares, so it is like a hex map while still using squares. If I can find a picture of this, I will post it, as I am not sure my description is very clear.
