My stumbling point with D.C. all along has been the combat system. As the system is written it seems overly complicated, to me, for a game that is as rules light as D.C.
As you may know, an attack is attempted by rolling the dice pool to beat a target number for a successful attack. Also, weapons have classes and armor has classes or levels which aid and defend during the attack. The draft, or number, rolled above the target number determines the damage dealt by a successful attack.
This all may seem simple enough but, as the D.C. rules are written, there is no rating or statistic that this damage affects or wounds. As I understand, and I'll find the exact rule and post it soon, the damage is dealt to the dice pool thus removing one dice from the character or n.p.c. which receives the damage.
If the result of an attack is the removal of a die from the pool than there is no need to know the amount of damage dealt. We only need to know that the attack was a success and then the wounded party is fighting with one less die in their pool.
If I'm totally off course with my understanding of the D.C. combat rules please provide an explaination of your understanding of said rules. Thanks, "I'll be back!"

If they took 2 damage wouldn't they lose two dice?

I suppose you are right. I really need to run through these combat rules in actual play so I can understand them better.
