aaawwwww that is so sweet! I love it. Makes me want to open a pack of crayons! I'm not sure if you mean this for a game or just for kicks, because these things require a lot of work to assemble (I should know!). But the end result is always beautiful! Makes me think about the terrains in Final Fantasy Tactics. Those battlemaps would look cool in that style of yours! (Also, reminds me to go back and finish my dungeon dressing project for DP - just some 3d Heroquest-ish elements like tables, bookcases, coffins, fireplaces, etc).

Thank you for the praise, it means a lot to me. You are right however. I am not sure i meant them for a game myself. and yeah, they are time consuming as rhey are. But, if we make an outdoors DP I could probably make less flexible but easier to build options. Come to think of it, we do have an outdoors DP... Flat Out War!

Well, don't let "being realist" stop you! Even if not practical, they look great as "art". And we can never enough art in the world. ;-) I may actually contribute with some house dressing. I'll try to upload my fireplace and tables designs, which are probably done (can't remember really), but will need resizing to 15mm. And good call on Flat Out War being DP friendly. I always forget that.

Dressing for DP and houses sounds great!

I have added two pages full of new walls. They are raw from the scanner. I have centered them more on the pages, since I plan to make them CraftRobo friendly.
To make walls longer just cut away a sidebeam on an outer wall.
Next on the list are the coresponding roofs to the new pieces.

The black n' white of the roofs is up on my Flickr now.
Hope you like!

Lookin' good! Here's the fireplace I promised: dl.dropbox.com/u/6278456/fireplace.jpgI haven't printed it yet, so it's more like a "works in theory" project. It's supposed to "fill" a 2"x1" area, but could be resized, I guess. If you want to make it extra 3D-ish, print the painting and mantle on separate heavy cardstock (like 2-3 mm) and glue over the model.

I have posted a page of coloured bits on my Flickr now. The fun thing is that I made everything from scratch on my iPad. I meant it to be glued on foamcore, but added gluetabs if you don'nt want to use foamcore. I mean to use 1/8" foam on these. I believe the 5mm stuff I used last time is a bit thick in this scale. I'm going to try both, and we'll see how it works out.

Yes! Just the other day I was wondering whether you did anything new with this.... :-)
I love it! Great job! The colors (and the drawing too, I guess) remind me of houses in an 8bit rpg videogame - which to me is gold. , I'll be waiting for pictures of it mounted on foamcore!

Okay, I made a quick testbuild of a house without foamcore. There are step-by-step pics on my Flickr showing how I did it. I used a grayscale printing, since it was my first try. It was a bit wobbly, so I need to do a base for the house. I work both saturday and sunday, so I might not find the time to do a foamcore test this weekend. Just stay put.

Okay...
I have posted pics of my foamcore build with a short commentary on my Flickr stream.
All in all, my end result surprised me. I did not expect to see such a small improvement with foamcore. Personally I do not think it is worth the effort. At least not in this scale.
I am still going to design the parts with both kinds of build in mind, even if I myself might abandon foamcore.
This last build made me aware of some stuff I need to fix. But when that is done, I will post my first 'real' parts for you to play with.

I really like those colors!
Have you considered a different arrangement for the walls? With the foamcore, you need to sand the edges in 45ยบ (I'm not sure what's the word, my English is failing me), but you wouldn't have to do that if you made the walls in two different sizes, to accommodate them in between.
Also, you could mount the front of the house and the triangular wall of the roof into a single piece of foamcore, and let the roof alone be a separate part.
what you think? have you tried that?

Yes, I have tried that. Sort of... I made all my houses for Warhammer like that. It always annoyed me how you could see part of the foam in the corners. But; You made me think... O.o If you cut out the 'lip' of foam in all corners instead of just the last, the texture would cover foam everywhere. Thanks! Will try that build too. However.... I want to concentrate on getting done with enough graphics to release. That way more people can build houses.
