I can't seem to locate the explanation for these. I read the dp guide & the cb guide. - I see stats like:
MOV: 6 (3) MOV: 3 and ATK: 1 (2) ATK: 1 (4)
at first I was thinking the "()" are for dice.
As in, I can roll two dice for attack 2 times on a (2) & roll 4 dice on a (4). but that doesn't really make since for the movement. what is the benefit of teamwork if I have one guy that can move 24 spots (assumed perfect roll of 6 x3) then a guy way at the back that only moved 3.
but then if you add them that still doesn't make much since on attacking because you wouldn't need the (), you could just attack at 5 instead of "1 (4)" I think that would pretty much kill every monster as long as you hit it.
- I am also confused by the leveling of stats after of 1 ,
so lets say somehow I have a stat 5 i want to got to stat 6, does it cost me 20? or is if I go from 1 to 6 that cost 20.? so a 5 to 6 only cost 6? (that is the # i get if I subtract 20-14=6)
- what level would I be if i had stats something like:
chaos knight at ATK: 2(4) DEF: 2(5) MAG: 0 MOV: 7 (3) LIF: 4 RES: 2 DEX: 2 WIT: 2
- is it possible to increase the () value as well?
so it is something like: ATK: 2(5) DEF: 2(6) MOV: 7 (4)

The number in parenthesis is the final stat, adjusted by the Hero/Monster's equipment. I'm not sure if it's a typo, but I believe the MOV decreasing from 7 to 3 in the Chaos Knight stat is due to heavy armor penalty. Stat Costs: To increase a stat by one, you must pay a number of stat points equal to the new stat - the table is just an easy reference to create Heroes. For instance: During creation, you want a Wizard with MAG 5. Since you start at MAG 1, this should cost you 2+3+4+5= 14 stat points. When you level up, you decide to increase your MAG 5 to MAG 6, and you pay 6 stat points. By now, you have invested 20 stat points in your MAG stat. Hope this clarifies things a bit!
