Shaun to carry on our conversation about realism and cartoon...er...ism. Here is my idea, since I do not know where to put it I shall stick it here.
It is nothing real special or innovative. It is just this: A series of real dungeon tiles. Basically each tile fits on single sheet of paper and contains a few rooms and halls. The tiles are designed to either work in pairs or fours. You could mix and match any paired tiles together, and the same is true for fours. The design would then have to be in a way that halls line up and such.
Why?
It just makes for the basis of a quick dungeon crawl or rpg setting. The GM does not have to design a map, just grab 2 tiles he or she like places them down, and play.
As I said nothing innovative, just a quick tool geared at roleplayers more than anything else.

Aren't the tunnel-tiles for Lost Treasure about spot on to this description? Or am I missunderstanding sumfink? Could very well be... I am a bit tapioca-brainy right now... Been working on pygmies all morning....

Sounds good. A great idea that is quick and easy for dungeon design. What scale would you be looking at for "square" size?

I will admit shaun's Dungeon treasure inspired this. I love the game, but I just wanted to apply it to all roleplayers. The otehr thing I had in mind for it is maximum use of space. There would be almost no black space on the tiles. 90% of it would be room or hall, to make for a very compact and dense dungeon.
I figured each tile could be 8by10 inches allowing for 80 inches of area on each tile. Maybe in a typical 1 inch standard.

Still shows lack of thought. My apologies for my absent minded-ness. I cannot wait to see what ya come up with. But please do not feel a need to rush it was just an idea.

How did I not reply to this? SO MANY POSTS! I guess a few get by me.... Anyway the tiles look really good Shaun, the only suggestion I have wold be to darken the entire walls, white just seems to bright to me. Also I am not certain if the black border is apart of the image or just a border that has been added to it by the site.

I did put a border around them but only to show the edges clearer. The actual tile will have no border at all. I only went with the white walls to conserve ink. Dark space got pretty well slammed when I did it for "Lost Treasures". However I much prefer darker walls.
The other issue I have been thinking about is room sizes and corridors etc. I may need to do sets of 4 tiles, so there is enough variety in room sizes.
