I have been thinking... (That hurts only a little bit nowdays - been practising ) Now that we are getting more and more fluff on the pygmies, I want to nail down their language. In our real world there are a couple of african languages that uses the klick sound. As far as I know there are only two or three languages in the world that uses that particular sound. And I think it sounds unearthly beautyful, the little I have heard... Since the Pygmies live somewhere else (We can get really metaphysical here if we want... ;D ) I do not want to name their language after a real one like X!osa or such. So: The pygmies of Pirueti and WashaFishy both speak a common language ripe with klicking sounds named X!ikiTok. All our 'english' names of stuff in their world are only proximate translations of the original X!ikiTok words.

The click sound does not have an equivalent in written language, or rather - too many. There is no 'standard' as far as I know. I have however seen (!) in different combinations so I chose x! as my representation. ( click) i- tOck with emphasis on the o. That is at least the way I do it. The Pirueti and WashaFishy tribes share a common language. With different dialects off course, but they can all communicate. That makes it possible for the budding Boneheads to go out collecting stories and young warriors to go walkabout and find a wife. The further a pygmy have to go to find a wife the more important they become in the tribe when they arrive back. A kind of social block to prevent inbreeding.
