Hey this is a shameless plea. Most of you guys probably already do this but if possible anytime you are in a game shop, chat room, or where ever gamers gather, if you could help me out and shamelessly promote our games, this forum, and the yahoo group. I will be ever so grateful.

Last time I was at a game shop I started talken about paperworlds. It didn't do anything significant . What you should do is find a cheap place to print out Quique and throw the forum and yahoo group on it. And put it in a pile up at the front of a store (ask first!!) and then let people grab and go. Better yet just print one and photocopy the rest lol!

Thats a pretty good idea. The best promotion is through word of mouth. I would actually like to play a few games as well, that is even better promption, but who has time?

I remeber that some places had boards where people posted roleplaying games and stuff. I'd post a version of Quique there and maybe your email address and the forum address so that people could play. My library has this also. In fact it has a whole area full of pamplets people seem to just drop off. If you have one of those sections then by all means exploit it . But the library will net u a few geeks that hang out there. Game stores galore. I've been thinking about this problem also (word of mouth) and how to spread it for paperworlds. One way is that paperworlds needs to gain money and become a sponser entity. For example at my local store I could cordinate a , 'Local game night sponsered by Paperworlds.com." Winners get prizes or something off the marketplace (just an idea) I think this could be beneficial if you ever start your company. Make a deal with local game stores to host game nights where you show off your games and give people a chance to play them. This is such a cliche audience that mass marketing ideas are kind of pointless. So in word of mouth play actully sitting down and playing the game goes along way! I also remebered in the backroom they had a room for gaming, try to reserve a table and run a game of Dice Chuckers and stuff. Its about going out there and outwardly imposing your game .

That is roughly what the plan has been. Once I am rolling a bit more online ie a decent website, just something solid to stand on, where I can gather all my things. Dice Chucker in print IS ready to be sold I just need to set up the accounts. With those two I can start doing demo's nothing deep just hit a few gameshops chat with the owner and run some games on a Saturday, as more products come online (Tortoise vs. Hare is almost ready) I can start adding them to the demo. I intend to do roughly the same thing with a few cons. Sponsorship takes money or other valuables so for awhile tourney and gamenights are beyond this company.

You actully do have something you could use as 'prizes.' Your hares! They are so cool and unique and if your putting them up for sale you should hand some of them out as prizes!

Models as prizes is a good idea. Other, slightly bigger, companies use that frequently...
Then we could (should?) make specal designs that are given out as uniques. Make the winner feel they won something that puts his or her army on the top shelf.
You know, that special Hare-hero caught in the middle of a mighty jumpkick... Or that one eyed tortoise veteran with a cracked shell standing resting on his two-handed club...

Giving away your standard minis as prizes is dangerous when talking about paper. If you give away a standard mini you are pretty much giving away an army. I could see creating a new image for a give away. /B

In the name of promotion I think I will move my Red Frontiers game to Rondaks. Why? I am not generating any intrest in it or DC by having it away from a community. So look for it there soon. I also want to run a Quique game and you will see it there as well.

You may want to promote DC on some other forums. (But be careful not to come across as a spammer!) www.rpg.net has an insanely busy forum and even has a special board to promote new games. The GENCON forum is a good place too: forums.gencon.com The Forge is all about game design: www.indie-rpgs.com/forumAlthough to tell the truth, that place is a bit to... uh... intellectual for my taste. They are just games! Also, those places like rpgnow.com and drivethrurpg are always giving away freebies. Maybe you could submit DC to them for some free advertising. I'll throw a DC link on my site and the KAMB group the next time I update. (Not that there is a whole lot of traffic there either!) ;D

Hey thanks Amok for the cyber boost! I think your site gets more hits than you think, it is listed on 9L website and KAMB is a popular game, so they get alot of traffic.
