I made a test print of the tiles and minis. But with a twist; I printed it all 50% size! It was fiddly business to cut the minis and chests, but worth it. Everything got so small I can fit a full game with rules, minis and tiles in one box. It is a box chaped like a treasure chest, quite fitting the game I think! I will make some kind of texture on the outside of the box, it will look more finished when I am done with it. Take a look at the right corner of the pic, one of our cats got very curious! Open the lid, and take a look: In the big compartment I will have plenty of room for bases to the doors and minis and so on. Going down one level, and you can see the tiles. When I am happy with everything I will print the tiles on 'sticker paper' and use 2,5 mm foamcore instead of the 5 mm I used for the test build. That way I will fit even more tiles in the lower compartment.

cool idea PJ
can you include a pic of the new half sized figures alongside the matching one at full size? Just curious to see how much the detail is retained

Sure thing! I hope the pic is good enough, the stuff is a bit too small for my camera... It was hard to get even fairly good crispness... btw. Look at the ridicolously thick bases... They are 5mm foamcore and they look like concrete bricks! I gotta get 2,5mm foamcore... I think it exists in grey, that would blend in nicely. Here goes: Ick... I forgot to blackline before I took the pic... They do need a good blacklining, these small mini-minis...

I think I'm going to try a set using flex-steel and magnet, since I have a cheap supply. very cool and tidy setup. Reminds me to dig up my files for the half scale Space Hulk game I have printed out... JIM

I have to admit, the pics look excellent! (Almost better than my full size version) At least a reprint at a smaller size will use less paper and ink!! ;D

Must say that I am itching to get my hand on those tiles. They have just the right amount of pop eye value for the casual gamer. Any idea on the ETA on these? Also I will again suggest you use Matte Board to mount the tiles and base your figures on - thinner profile and greater density = better stability.

A long overdue answer to a good idea...: Must say that I am itching to get my hand on those tiles. They have just the right amount of pop eye value for the casual gamer. Any idea on the ETA on these? Also I will again suggest you use Matte Board to mount the tiles and base your figures on - thinner profile and greater density = better stability. Lord Abaddon of Wormwood You are right. I found a stash of 2mm cardboard and that is much better than my original idea using 2.5mm foamboard.
