Hi everyone! My pc is back and I think I'm ready to show some of my figures to the comunity. I hoped to write a long introduction about how they came to be and what it means for me to be drawing again, but I'm super excited and also really sleepy right now. Anyway, I decided to group together minis that are quest related but I'm having second thoughts... maybe you all can help me. What do you think of this: picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/blzHL8GR8XUhYBLbmVdVlQ?authkey=Gv1sRgCInAn5Xm7dDnew&feat=directlinkIt's sort of an hommage to John Kovalic's hilarious "Kobolds ate my babies" game. The thing that bothers me is that people will have to edit this image to get 6 warriors, 2 sorcerers, 2 shamans, 3 slingers, 1 king, etc. Shaun told me by PM that boardgamegeek would be a good place to send these minis and I agree, but maybe I really should do a pdf like those on the download pages... Any ideas? Also, I mentioned in another thread that I edited some heroes. Could I post them without getting into trouble? picasaweb.google.com.br/lh/photo/z_M46voX3R3AndqtWt-2UQ?authkey=Gv1sRgCIy-qtbau4CrPw&feat=directlinkpicasaweb.google.com.br/lh/photo/-ZQNyyL3I_oyQsakzMClCg?authkey=Gv1sRgCIy-qtbau4CrPw&feat=directlinkI will remove these links if anyone tells me so. And speaking of permissions, I've colored some of the OneMonk's minis. Can I share them? Well, this is it for now. I have many more images to show and I hope to share them with the comunity real soon. Just hoping real life doesn't get in the way EDIT: new links! My very own Dungeon Plungin Minis can be found here: picasaweb.google.com.br/edson.francischinelli/DungeonPlungin03?authkey=Gv1sRgCPns0NT2j9za2AE&feat=directlinkAnd the hacks and edits I made to other artist's figures are here: picasaweb.google.com.br/edson.francischinelli/HacksAndEdits?authkey=Gv1sRgCIy-qtbau4CrPw&feat=directlink

holy cow ain't it awesome..!! ok, for starters, I need you to explain me how download that stuff then someone should tell me where to get all those greek heroes (and from what I've read, also the monsters) and extra heroes, wherever they're placed on the net (couldn't find them in any way)..!! finally, your kobolds look just TOO great, the only complaint I have about them is the missing back side, please, pretty please add it and they will be PERFECT, I already love'em..! ;D d**n if I'm excited too now, can't wait for your other works, keep up the good work..! btw, I think that there should be no problem posting the colored onemonk's minis, as long as you credit him in the jpg/pdf by saying that those are his minis, and yours is just the coloring (IIRC other people already did that)... now just give me your minis, I neeeeeed them..!!!

The figures look great and I for one don't mind the mods of my stuff as long as credit is given to the initial illustrators on the jpeg (like you have done). I really like the Kobolds figures Ciabs, the greek figures were mine (all had backs on them) which was hosted on a geocities web site which is now gone since they shut down their free web hosting. I will be looking to have a new home for them soon. Paul, aka Shadowolf Edit: just went and put the greek types on my flikr account www.flickr.com/photos/31222610@N02/

ok, for starters, I need you to explain me how download that stuff So, uhn... I guess this isn't really a good place for me to store the minis, right? Well, I'm not sure if google changes languages based on your IP address. But it seems following the link makes the 'toolbar' in google albums disapear. Either way, the Download option seems to be down too. But you should be able to view it at 100% scale (click on the magnifying glass "+" icon, upper right corner) and then "right-click-save-image-as". It should work for now. ;D I'll take that as a "yes, you can also share the monsters you've added backs to". Thanks! now just give me your minis, I neeeeeed them..!!! Hehehe! Thanks for the excitement. I've already brought most of my stuff to work so I can use them more readily, but I'm still at work, so... But now, for a taste of things to come, the one monster Dungeon Plungin had been missing: the Dragon! picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/9YFRE8fSAnp2nq8OZpfwlg?authkey=Gv1sRgCInAn5Xm7dDnew&feat=directlink

I love the Kobold minis! Are you working on an adventure to go with them?

I would love for you to post your introduction at some time, so that we can know the details behind your figures.
I agree a pdf is better for storing the figures, but some formatting is required. A simple guideline for grouping Monsters is: Small Monsters - 8 figures Medium Monsters - 6 figures Large Monsters - 1,2 or 3 figures Monster Characters - 1 figure
Modified and edited figures are fine so long as you have permission of the designer. Onemonk has given permission on his website to color and mod his DP figures. Other designers will need to be contacted (I see Shadowolf has already given his blessing!)
I look forward to your future contributions!

I would love for you to post your introduction at some time, so that we can know the details behind your figures. They will come, don't worry. I'm kinda swamped at work, so it'll have to wait a bit. But the weekend is already here anyway. I agree a pdf is better for storing the figures, but some formatting is required. A simple guideline for grouping Monsters is: Small Monsters - 8 figures Medium Monsters - 6 figures Large Monsters - 1,2 or 3 figures Monster Characters - 1 figure Those are great guidelines, thanks. I think, for now, I'll just leave the images as individual files, and later, as I (and other people, if they want to) create quests using them, I'll group them into pdfs. I could assemble a couple of related monsters like I did with the kobolds, but I think that will ultimately depend on the quest (like, I have ideas for an egyptian themed quest that could see a couple of brown spiders, as well as a fairy forest invaded by giant spiders). So, here are some new links for your apreciation: My very own Dungeon Plungin Minis can be found here: picasaweb.google.com.br/edson.francischinelli/DungeonPlungin03?authkey=Gv1sRgCPns0NT2j9za2AE&feat=directlinkAnd the hacks and edits I made to other artist's figures are here: picasaweb.google.com.br/edson.francischinelli/HacksAndEdits?authkey=Gv1sRgCIy-qtbau4CrPw&feat=directlinkI have sketches for new monsters that I still need to scan/color, and I'll eventually add backs to them all. Just don't hold your breath: I worked on these when I was unemployed, a couple of months ago, so I don't have that much free time anymore. Please, enjoy and let me know what you think.

I love the Kobold minis! Are you working on an adventure to go with them? Yes and no. If you check the links in my previous post you'll notice a lot of themed monsters that are just beging for a quest. The drawings came from a desire to have all kinds of fantasy monsters available as minis in DP style. Of course, I now have ideas about what to do with them, but nothing written in stone - or paper, for that matter.

HOLY f**k!!!!
you just prepared a whole monsterpedia for DP..!!
Now your future works have to be centered on giving those minis the backs they deserve...
I won't hold my breath, I promise, but still I can't believe what I've seen on your album, those minis are totally awesome..!!!! ;D ;D ;D

But.. but... but I still need to make a beholder, a rust monster, a treant, a dryad, mud men, carnivourous plants, a cave bear, some gnolls, evil penguins, hell hounds, mind flayers and brain devourers, and... stuff! Really, I did mean to add backs to them. Like yourself, I always felt Tomb of the Lich King needed backs. Desperatly. But even without them, the minis work, so I will probably prioritize drawing new stuff over finishing older models (that 2% inspiration will come before the 98% transpiration). Also a problem for me: I tend to "loose focus" after a while. So, again, don't hold your breath. But also, don't loose hope. Oh, I think I should mention that I never printed/mounted any of my figures, so any feedback on that front will be really helpful! Dear Santa, I NEED a new printer, ASAP!
PS: I just noticed the flame skull doesn't have a black line around it (that's because I've redone it several times in several colors)... That's what you get for rushing things when you should have finished them over a month ago! lol

I know what you mean about losing focus, I tend to stay focused on things in bursts of some months, then I switch to something else (new or not) before returning to previous projects... but now it's DP time, so I gotta plunge into it - pun obviously intended - as much as I can..! by the way: I totally need evil penguins, so get working and do all of that stuff, front and back..! ;D I was dreaming myself into delusion as always, and I thought with your work completed, added with an hypotetical 4.0 ruleset of DP with DYOQ integrated one could create ANY quest he could think of, and also use any of the minis for any game - not just DP... so, since my delusions are so much important, I hereby declare the world needs a complete monsterpedia (fronts&backs obviously) to go with an ultimate ruleset..!!!1!!one! ...yes, you can bring in the straightjacket and 10mg of Haldol IV, thank you very much... ...make the jacket size M please...

No, no, I completely agree with you. I can totally see these minis being used for other games. I mean, why do you think I've put so much work into this? Sure, I love DP, but I also need "cheap" miniatures for Dungeons & Dragons 4th edition. I think the rules could use some revision and I have loads of ideas for that: character generation, leveling up, dice and cards usage, table formating, etc. Oh and Quests, new quests, loads of quests, with new monsters, new tiles and shiny new treasures. I just want more. So, don't worry, you're not the only one who's delusional.
