Hey guys! New to the forum, but I've been playing Dungeon Plungin' with a group of friends for about a month now. I really like the simplicity of the system, and how accessible it is to modification. I've developed a sort of 'Town System' for visitation between quests - I'm still working out the kinks, but so far its been pretty good to us. NOTE: Three of the locations are still in heavy beta - the Temple, the Tavern, and the Monster Board. The random item generation mentioned in the Alchemical Guild is a chart put up on Board Game Geek ( boardgamegeek.com/filepage/63393/supplement-random-item-creation-charts-1-1)So if you guys want to try these out, or have any questions/suggestions, let me know. I'll keep you updated once I figured out the other parts of town. Attachments:

Wow, this is very cool! I love the temple idea, reminds me of Desktop Dungeons, Crawl and other roguelikes! It's a bit fiddly though, which is fine for some people and not so for others. Like you said, it is easy to add/remove parts of the ruleset, so no harm there. And creating new deities will be fun. One idea that could complement yours is a random event table for traveling between towns. Things like "you encounter a trading caravan and escort it to its destination: receive 25 gold as a reward", "orc raiders attack you: fight them", "you encounter a rare herb, coveted by alchemists: sell it for 50gold", etc... There may be a lot of tables like these around the web... PS: Welcome to the forums!

It is great to see someone is using the chart I put together for random item generation. I am glad it was useful to someone! The document you created looks great, and allows for a more cohesive storytelling, which I approve.

Here they are! Some internet playtest safe rules for Town Visitation! Took awhile to get it rolling. Hope you guys have as much fun with this stuff as we had making it! And give some feedback here if there's something you'd want added or changed. Attachments:

And the town visitation rules haven't changed much either - pretty much, when you visit the tavern, roll 2d6 on that chart and you can find out what happens to you. Still need to make more Gods for the temple, but other than that, it all seems to work out. Attachments:
