Hi all! I'm new around here and was wondering what version of the rules should I use. The version 3.1 is the version in the main page and the 3.5 I've found on the other thread, but it seems to be missing a SpellBook and a MonstersBook, correct? Also the 3.1 seems to have more quests done for them. Just want to leave a word of BIG THANK YOU for this game, I haven't played yet, but just reading the rules brings so much memories! The mechanics look very nice giving you lots of options yet keeping it simple. From my experience it looks like a cross between D&D (the background with warriors, wizards, clerics, etc exploring dungeons), Vampire (the dice mechanic) and a board game (Warhammer Quest). Hope to give you some feedback on the gaming experience as soon as I decide which rules to use Once again many thanks for this free game! P.S. - erf_beto your minis, hacks and edits rule!

you should play 3.1 because it is the official release, as you said it is more complete.
The 3.5 version you found is a work in progress, when oversoulgames finish it, It will be available at main download page. You should play with this only for testing and give feedback on forum.
Sorry about my english.

Welcome to the forums! :-) As chocochobi said' you should start with 3.1 and maybe give 3.5 a try to give the designers some feedback, after you familiarize yourself with the ruleset. That would be most welcome I'm sure! Have fun with your plungin' :-D

Thank you for the replies. I've been playing around and the game is really fun. A nobbs question... imagine this scenario: Position A: room with 2 doors, one at north and other at south Position C: corner, with door at north and east Position D: corner, with door at west and north When exploring position B I roll for a room with 4 doors! What do you guys do? Ignore the door leading to the room on position A? Or keep it and say it was a secret door on the other side? Thanks

I usually ignore it. Though I can't remember if there's an official rule for that... 0.o?

Welcome to the forums, mummi! Unfortunetly, there's no ETA. Start with 3.1, but keep 3.5 close. See which one better suits you, and don't forget to provide feedback! And don't worry about the components, as they will not change.

Hey, I just discovered this game (Thanks to Emergency Override's post on OneMonk), and I read ALL of the 3.1 rules! I LOVE this! I do have a question. I didn't see anything about creating your own Quest, or using other Monsters. I saw someone said something about a Monster List? I know that there are Monsters in the pre-made Quests, but what about OTHER monsters? I know you may only be focusing on the Monsters that you have Figures for, but I was wondering if there was a formula for creating other Monsters, or how this worked. Sure, I have a few 1st level quests I downloaded here, but what about Level 2 or 3 Heroes? Do they just walk through easily? You also mentioned the Doom Dragon... what ELSE do you have?

Hi kiladecus! welcome to the forums! Unfortunately, unless you find the monster in the current quests, you probably won't find the stats for it. You'll probably have to stat them yourself - and if you do, don't forget to come and share it with us all! People around the forums here are usually very open and friendly about it Even my little kobolds, I never sat down and wrote stats for them. The current DIY manual is a bit outdated but has a couple guidelines for creating monsters in the current version. It is in the stickied thread. It's not perfect though - and, we are working on v.4 which means some of the math may suffer a little adjustment and that means monster stats as well.

Well, if there is ANYTHING I can do to help with the Monster creation process, please let me know! My PRIMARY interest here (aside from playing the game) is Monster creation! The MORE Monsters, the more diversity, and by swapping out Monsters on the existing Quests, you can have INFINATE possibilities.
If you can supply me with a formula (I have the one from the DYOQ doc), but if there is something different, I would GLADLY start cranking out stats (including your Kobolds).
Just offering...
