Hey everyone, I have a quick question/suggestion... and I keep getting the "Whatever works for you," answer. Is there a way that you can upgrade equipment? I was thinking of a +3 sword. I suit of that only gave your MOV a -1, instead of -2. I was thinking that you could pay the price of the item again, and get a "bonus" on it. PLATE MAIL You buy it for 60gp, and it is +4, -2 MOV. You pay 60gp and the MOV modifier is -1 now. You pay ANOTHER 60gp, and it is now a -0 modifier. Also, I asked about buying bottles for 10gp, and filling them up at the great fountain. Is this allowed? It is a cheap Healing Potion. More ideas/questions will follow, I'm sure. Stay posted.

equipment in DP is really simple (really, v.1 had like 3 or 4 items!), so anytime you want a different weapon you don't see on the list, take a look at the modifiers and eyeball what's best. You want to upgrade your +2 sword? what's the next 1handed item with a +3 bonus? how much does it cost? Just buy that one and say it's a "masterwork sword".
As for armor, IMO you gotta be more careful. Usually, they have MOV penalties to ensure you feel weary about taking a DEF+4 suit thus invalidating your low base DEF. Actually, the same apply to weapons when you deviate from the table (like an ATK +4, 1 handed , and ranged!), usually, a weapon with a big bonus should use both hands, and ranged weapons shouldn't be more powerful than melee, unless they cost much much more.
Of course, those are my personal guidelines.
As for the bottles, I allow refills at the fountain. You were carrying these somewhat useless items in your inventory, so, why not? But I also don't stock empty bottles, so I haven't had any problems with it. If you see it's getting out of hand, limit the amount of bottles you can fill (like one per hero, or roll a d6), then the fountain dry out and can't be used again. Maybe they only heal half of what a potion would, and loose effect when you leave the dungeon. Not sure how others do it...

We have been down the route of covering every permutation of modifiers, names and types of weaponry before. It tends to make things confusing (although once you start creating Quests a bit of expansion doesn't hurt!) It is possible to break the game if you have equipment that is "too" good. As for the bottles providing cheap healing potions, that is by design. Unless you have a backpack, carrying around empty bottles may be a waste of space. Also, once an empty bottle has been used, it cannot be used again. (Although we have House ruled the healing fountain, seeing it is only magical water!!!)
