I began work on a mangaish mecha setting. Originally it was intended for Quique One Page Setting. While I am still developing it for that system I thought it might be fun to do a more detailed version of it for DC.
So here it is I would love some input about this. The storyline is not super original. My goal here is to broaden myself in artwork. If it makes it to the final stages this will represent my first endeavor into manga art. So I wanna hear what you have to say. Do you have some ideas you think that would work in this setting? New Power Dice? Or ideas for the mechanics in DC? Lets hear them!!!
Seven Suns
Genre: Manga style mecha sci-fi
Humanity has moved out into the galaxy and set up colonies around 6 other stars. Travel was difficult and the colonies had to be mostly self sufficent. All was well till Earth was embroiled in economic ruin, disaster and civil war in 2109. Soon after all contact with Earth ceased... The colonies where isolated. Life was hard for some time but the colonies being able to sustain themselves managed to hold on to what they had and began building their own civilizations and prospered. Culture and technology flourished as they beat back a dark age. 100 years later the colonies managed to gain very limited contact with each other with long range space craft. Each colony had their problems conflicting factions, even conflicts with other colonies.
Then in 2237, Earth reappeared to reclaim the colonies. A new stronger and more fierce regime had been born out of ashes of war. Earth demanded retribution and tax from the colonies. The colonies refused. Earth set about a campaign to retake the colonies and impose its rule. The Earth forces were surprised at how well the colonies fared during their absence and were surpised at how well the colonies were defended.
Now in 2248, The colonies try to hold themselves together and keep Earth from gaining a foothold.
Earth
Earth Colonial Reclaimation Armada(ECRA)- Sent to re-establish Earth control of the colonies. Set up a giant space station orbiting a black dwarf as a base of operation.
The ECRA is made up of about 500 vessels and 500,000 combat and support personnel.
Colonies
Mechs
Walker technology was begining when the colonies lost contact with Earth. Naturally they continued to expand upon it. Today mechs are very humanoid, bipedal with distinct head, torso, arms, and legs. Mechs are able to fitted out with a variety of attachments, and with hands they are able to use tools designed for mechs. Many laborous tasks are now handled using mechs.
They are extremely useful in conflict resolution. Security, military, and even paramilitary forces all make extensive use of mechs. Mechs can be armored and armed easily for specific missions and situations. The colonies and Earth have developed combat mechs along the same lines.
Space Travel
Colonial ships use plasma rockets to move about. Trips insystem usually take days, while outsystem trips take weeks or months, luckily all the colonies are relatively close together. Earth has superior space travel technology. Many of their larger ships carry Faster-than-Light (FTL) drives that enable them to travel beween stars quickly. However they require a large fuel source to make short jumps. Large jumps, such as to Earth require an extraordinary amount of fuel. The ECRA was expecting to easily take the colonies and thus use their captured fuel supplies. The unexpected level of resistance dashed that plan and the ECRA has to be conservative with its meagerly aquired fuel.
Other Advances
Life in the colonies is not much different than that now. There are some technological innovations but much is similar to present day. Personal ground vehicles still get people around. Food has to be harvested, minerals aquired. Colds and other illnesses still exist. However computers are smaller and faster and exist at a subtle level in almost everyone's lives.
Characters
Player characters are colonial residents. They can be of any occupation common or uncommon: Police officer, report, mechanic, soldier, mech pilot, star pilot, spy, and resistance fighter just to name a few.
In Seven Suns players will encounter antigonists from the ECRA, other colonists, saboteurs, callaborators, spies, crooked cops, and criminals. The list is really only limited to your imaginations.

- Utopia- Pastoral. The most prosperous colony after the loss of contact with Earth.
- Shangri'la- Marshy
- Asgard- Alpine. Colder than Earth, largest settlement, Valhalla.
- Nirvana- Arid. Hotter and drier than Earth, largest settlement,
- Elysium- Jungle
- Eden- Arboreal, The first colony Earth founded, largest settlement, Zion.
