Llampune, pronounced lampoon, is my next massive paper miniature project.
Llampune is a cartoon fantasy world that pokes a little fun at traditional wargaming. You pick one of ten armies to play. Each army has its brings its own uniqueness to the battlefield.
If you like the artwork in Dice Chucker you will love Llampune! All the fantasy cartoons in DC are taken from early sketches of Llampune.
I will be expanding this thread from time to time with info for or about Llampune as it develops

I have begun drawing the core units for the first two factions. Each faction starter set will have 3 units. The infantry units will consisting 10 different models and additiional 10 duplicates so as to make unit of up to 20 troopers. Special units, will vary but will have a minimum of 5 different models.
Each unit will come in 3-4 color schemes with individual banner designs so as to be able to print out 3-4 different units of that unit type. So just with the starter set you could field some very large armies with out having the same color and design over and over again.
I am also going to begin posting some info about each faction in the world of Llampune. This may be very sparadic. The first two factions are the Realm and the Umbra and constitute the largest factions in the game.
The Realm
The Realm is a vast wealthy kingdom. The people of the Realm consider themselves to be the pinnacle of human culture and civilization. They built glorious cities and great institutes of knowledge and wizardry. In the capital city, Solaris, the Academy produces some of the greatest mages in Llampune. For centuries the Realm had prospered under the Sun God, Heliyon. It was the goal of the Realm to drive darkness from the Llampune and bring enlightment to all. It was this innocent goal that eventually created Llampune's greatest threat, the Umbra.
The Realm is currently ruled by Rolan XXXVIII the Supremely Benevolent, Just, and Courageous. Rolan XXXVIII, the SBJaC has made it his life''s work to remove the stain of the Umbra from Llampune and protect his people from its marauding hordes. The Realm constantly maintains three armies along the frontier border to try and prevent an invasion by Umbral forces. The Army of the North, lead by Archduke Tristan, the Army of the Northeast led by Crown Prince Rolan XXXIX, and the Army of the East led by Princess Miriam.
The Umbra
The land now known as the Umbra was once the eastern frontier of the Realm. The land was rugged, untamed, with many dangerous creatures. Though the Realm claimed the land, it never really ruled it. Those few who dwelled there were conditioned by the hardships, they were wild and barbaric. Many tribes of savage orcs roamed the landscape, adding their weight to the chaos of the region. King Lugh XVIII sent many troops and his most able captain, to try and bring order to the eastern terratory. The inhabitants were entrenched in their ways. They believed in in primative gods and spirits of the primal world. Those beliefs were made all the more savage by centuries of contact with the orcs. The regiments of King Lugh XVIII were out numbered in a distant land and embattled. Morale sunk low, desertion ran high. Many succumbed to to the temptations of primal power including King Lugh XVIII's trusted captain, Asturnomus. He became more and more resentful of his posting and of King Lugh XVIII. He secretly began meeting with the shamans of the savages, learning their ways and plotting against his former leige.
The shamans took Asturnomus to their most sacred and secret sites. Great standing stone circles, that were once portals to the shadow planes of their demon masters. Centuries ago their masters ruled the world till a great host of westerns came and at the conclusion of a great war sealed all the portals. The demons kne Asturnomus had access to western magic and told him if he could reopen the portals their hordes could reenter the world. In return Asturnomus would be given command and rulership of the land.
Asturnomus sought out every magic book he could find, and eventually he found the Key to unlocking the portals. It is said that the sky darkend and the earth shook all across Llampune that day. Asturnomus reopened several of the ancient seals unleashing the demons into the world. The dark magic errupted from the portals like a volcano, warping and twisting the land for miles. Much of the northeast frontier became vast wasteland. The forested lands to the west grew dark and menacing and the elven lands to the south became a great swamp. The force not only altered the lands it transformed its inhabitants as well. Beasts mutated into wicked semi intelligent brutes and even the dead rose. Many of the observes were either killed or transformed. Asturnomus himself was also warped his body merged with the first and most powerful demon to come through the portal, from the vile plane. Asturnomus and the demon became the Eternal Shadow King.
The Shadow King led his forces out from the warped frontier to make war on the Realm. The warriors of the Realm are strong and brave and for centuries held the Shadow King and his dark forces in check. Since then the area of the former norhteast frontier has been known as the Umbra.
