Hi,
I'm an old PW lurker who stumbled onto Oversoul's Site a few days ago.
First off I must say I hate you! I've been tinkering with my own simple RPG sets for years. Sometimes I've had chance to play them with mates, but most often they sit gathering dust on my PC.
Quique (how do you pronounce that by the way?) has an original and interesting game mechanic that I intend to tinker with for months and months and months. And I didn't think of it!! Not fair!
I like games that are driven by the story and the players, not 1,200 pages of core rules (a la D&D). IMHO the core game mechanic should not interfere with play.
I look forward to contributing here.
Craig.

Welcome aboard Craig!
Quique(pronounced Quick) actually took me some time to develop and is a collection of several different engine ideas that I junked together and some how got to fire up and run!. The two main ideas involved was a simple rpg and an rpg that could be played online without use of a roller. Seperately the ideas flopped but their powers combined and vroom!
I 100% agree, games should be fun, and for me to maximize fun means a good ruleset that you do not have to agonize over, spend hours creating the crunchy bits of a character, and have to interupt the fun to check a rule or something. That is a theme you will notice with all our games.
I look forward to having you contriubte, it helps to inspire us, or just to get our tails in gear and do something!
We hate you too!
Bobby

Hi Bobby, Does this mean you are open to members dropping the core engines for their homebrew rpg's here for discussion too, or is this an Oversoul-games focused forum? I don't mind which way you answer that, I just don't want to upset the apple cart. I have been searching and testing out simple engines for the best part of two decades now (been playing since '76 - ah'm an oldtimer f'sure). Mostly because I'd rather spend my time focusing on the adventure/campaign setting than endless rules. If you are interested in seeing any of my output I put the url to my open Yahoo! Group in my profile. I've recently cleaned this out - it was a campaign home for a while, and reset it to open membership. See you about Craig.

Creativity is a wonderful thing. We have a board here called the Game Dump and that is exactly what it is for. If you just want to chat about a mechanic idea that is the place for it!
If you have a setting you are working on for DC, Quique, or FOW drop them into the respective categories. ;D
