Hi guys, I have been following your games for a while now (god I love the pygmies) but only recently really got into DP. What a fantastic little game which I sincerely hope gets bigger. I have 2 questions about the rules though: The first is about the Warhammer listing in the weapons list. Is this supposed to be a 2 hander as in the battleaxe in that it cannot be used with a shield? It currently is listed as no special notes. As a +3 weapon, why would anyone bother with a battleaxe which restricts shield use and costs the same. The second is about the bad guys in general. I assume the combat stats include any bonuses a weapon would normally give a player character. All ghoblins have an attack of 2 no matter what the miniature is illustrated as holding. If this is the case, how would you work out ranged attacks for the bow armed baddies or do we assume they all melee? I used to draw paper miniatures a while ago but drifted away to pursue other things (ie becoming a dad). But this game has hooked me once more into the world of paper and drawing. In the last two weeks I think I have done nothing but draw miniatures again that could be used for DP by myself. So a big thank you to Oversoul Games for the inspiration. I'll link to some of the DP minis I have madeI don't know if its appropriate to add a link to alternative miniature sites so tell me if its out of line. www.geocities.com/ragnar_shadowolf/Many thanks Paul B aka Shadowolf

Let me be the first to say a big Welcome! Thanks for the kind words regarding the pygmies! I like your stuff very much too. I downloaded all the Dr Who stuff in one go ages ago! And all the rest too... As a swede I am a bit curious as to what will happen with the Great Northern War...? I leave your rules questions to the rest of the guys since I don't see myself as a sterling rulesmith, but; I for one completely endorse your fanart! Your undead look super! You are totally welcome to make more fanart. Oh... And congratz on becoming a dad, that is a great reason for not pursuing timeconsuming hobbies! ;D It's good you find the time again. /PJ aka Bryn Brenainn

Thanks bryn
The GNW is still happening. I have quite a few on my computer as I bought some great reference material when I was in Stockholm a few years back when visiting my uncle. Problem is time and my inability to avoid distractions...wargaming is so diverse. The figures are all masters on file so i can change a few uniform facings etc to add different regiments easily.
The DP stuff I can solo which is great.

Hello Shadowolf HOLY CRAP! your minis are nice! Welcome aboard. I will see if I can answer your questions. If I recall the warhammer was indeed suppose to be two handed. It was really meant just as a variant for minis with no real difference between it and the battle axe. For now yes despite what weapon the ghob is holding they have the same stats. I believe that is changing in Shawn's greenie campaign where different minis will have different stats. I need to get back to my minis I have put them off for over a week now, and you have inspired me to get back to work on them!

I have always liked your miniatures. I just recently noticed that the local hospital still has the Davros and the Daleks I printed back in 2003, mounted on the IT department monitors!! For your questions: The Warhammer is supposed to be the same as the Battleaxe. There are a couple of little errors like that through out the rules . . .Sorry! There are more stats going to be released for the bad guys. The Ghoblin figures released for Den of the Orcish Raiders, are actually different to what was supposed to be released (My fault I am afraid!!) The original Ghoblins were unarmoured and had short swords. My campaign should fix a lot of these inconsistancies! Your figures are great, and I look forward to seeing more!!!

I can't wait to see your campaign then. Any idea what sort of time frame you are looking at...days, weeks or longer?
As far as inconsistencies go...they are minor and there aren't many. I've downloaded hundreds of rules off the net and these are one of the best I have seen...a real credit to you guys.
Stayed up late putting together more dungeon tiles last night from the knocking wall scenario...which reminds me I must head off and grab some more black foamcore from the shops.

I can't wait to see your campaign then. Any idea what sort of time frame you are looking at...days, weeks or longer? I am still looking at weeks before the campaign doco is completed. Even when complete, there is no guarrentee that I will have done everything right, so I will probably need some playtesters again. As to progress, I have finished the following: 1. the first three scenarios 2. Unique floor tiles for the first two scenarios 3. All the figures Players use the same basic rules, tables, items etc. for each Adventure but . . . each Scenario is slightly harder than the one before it. There are six scenarios and you need to defeat the main Boss in each, before you can progress onto the next one. If you do not complete it you need to repeat it. Most of the charts are the same for each Scenario in the campaign, however some Charts have a level modifier which is the number of the Scenario. For example: The Monster Type Chart is D8 + Level So you roll a D8 and add 1 to the total for Scenario One, 2 for Scenario Two, 3 for Scenario Three etc. Rolling an 8 for Scenario One means I use Monster Type 9 (8+1). Other charts will be unique to the Scenario The Location Chart, Special Location Chart and Unique Location Chart. Rules for the Unique locations will also be different and will involve character figures and different options. There are also some changes to the wording and usage of the Traps and Events. These will take precedence over the ones in the main rulebook. Here is the Monster Chart to give you an idea. D8 + Scenario Level Roll | Monsters (#) | 2-3 | Ghoblins (D4) | 4 | Ghoblins (D4) + Ghoblin Greatswords (1) | 5 | Ghoblin Snitches (D4) | 6 | Ghoblins (4) + Ghoblin Bannerbearer (1) | 7 | Ghoblin Snitches (4) | 8 | Ghoblin Snitches (4) + Ghoblin Bannerbearer (1) | 9 | Wolves | 10 | Orcs (D6) | 11 | Big Orcs (D6) | 12 | s (6) + Orc Bannerbearer (1) | 13 | Big Orcs (6) + Orc Bannerbearer (1) | 14 | Trolls (D3) |
I have decided to utilize the character figures for more options in the unique rooms rather than create a pile of individually statted monster types. This has been on the backburner for a couple of Months, so I may be able to give it some priority to get it out sooner!!

My god you did some work there lol. They look great. I have been drawing some basic shields and weapons that can be modded onto any of the figs too. Shaun those ideas and tables look fantastic. I can't wait to see the whole thing...no pressure I got distracted with an experiment into DP figures by making a set of greek myth after watching The Oddessy on dvd. But this time I am doing backs as well as fronts. Gonna put on 300 now and try some spartans Paul

This obsession is killing me...I have DP tiles everywhere and have a hard time explaining to the wife why I'm up late using up her stash of paper and print cartridges. Oh well, it keeps us off the streets I added a sample to my figure page of the greek style myth busters I have been concentrating on. The DP rules are elegantly simple to learn and can be used for so many dungeon delving genres....tomb raider or indianna jones anyone? LoL

These are some really great mini's people! It inspired me to start playing with them with the aim of building an army for "Hordes of the Things" which is a set of fantasy wargames rules. So I needed to build groups rather than individuals. Here's some samples. These images are only linked here, but if any of the contributers object to these images being linked, I'll take them down.
