As title suggests, this is the place to fluff out your pygmy related ideas. Like to discuss a new tribe? A new natural menace? Fluff out a tree before PM me it for the flora list? Just share some non-RPG thoughts and get input?
Place your spear by the entrance and come on in. We have Yumyum root roasting over the fire.

You may have opened a floodgate . . .
My first idea is the "Gorrat" A large rodent, about the size of a bunny, with big sharp teeth and round wide eyes, they look like plump bundles of fur, but don't think they are cute! These vindictive little ferals will bite a chunk out of each pawpaw in a store pile, just to be nasty! They are swift and particularly vicious if cornered. Although they don’t eat meat, they still will take a bite out of ostrich steaks or suck eggs empty. Surprisingly they are really good to eat, with a sweet tasting meat.
The idea of the Gorrat, is to have an annoying pest that would be a good source of food for some of the other inhabitants of the land and doesn’t make you feel bad about having to eat and kill them.
The idea actually came from our Aussie possums. I remember going to this abandoned town out west, a tourist attraction. Some city guy had found a possum up in the rafters of the veranda and was trying to entice it down. We warned him to leave it alone, but he thought it looked so cute. When it finally decided to come down, it used his body as a bridge. He ended up with deep lacerations on his arm and side that had to be treated at a hospital because the possum had urinated in them on the way to the ground.
Don’t mess with nature!!

I think I am liking the Snakes idea more and more, for an atagonist!
Something along the lines of Kaa from the Jungle book. BIG!! Bigger than a pygmy, but not blatently overdone. Make them more sinister in the potential for danger, rather than having them automatically dangerous.
Intelligent, talking constrictors that negotiate, argue and deal.
I can imagine the pygmies arguing about who gets the job of ambassador to the Snakes. "You go, your not as plump" "No you go, your not as big" "Taze-Bad says they are very friendly, just slippery" "Yah, but Mor-Sell never came back, did he?"
The Gorrats would also be a great food source for the snakes!

Cool! Official Pest . . . For the Flora:Huffshrub -This little bush has really large flowers that have the most amazing perfume. A cross between cooking biscuit dough and honey, it really is quite enticing and strong. They aslo come in a wide variety of colors and shades. The female pygmies quite often pick a flower to put in their hair. The male pygmies consider it very sissy but still pay attention to the girls with the bigger flowers. Unknown to all is that most predatory animals can't stand the scent and will avoid it if possible. This is why the women are rarely bothered while scavenging for food. Huffshrub berries are edible, but there are very few around pygmy tribes because the flowers are picked before they can develop.

More fauna:
Glitterbugs: Small beetles that give a bright, eerie light quite able to shine up a not so small area if they bunch together. The pygmies use to catch them and cage them in cages made by semi transperent leaves. They live almost everywhere.

I have an idea for a pygmy tribe too. A Polynesian type tribe. Of course they would have to live on their own little island and have canoes and perhaps the greatest warriors will even surf. But the main idea is; a) it's a new tribe based on the ocean, b) it adds a new style of art to the pygmy theme.

Biggob - This dark feathered bird is most noted for its large bright multicolored beak. They tend to stay out of the way of Pygmies by staying towards the tops of the trees, however they have an interesting call which the pygmies can mimic easily. If a biggob is around then you can be certain there is no danger nearby. I liked the idea of the longneck, so went through some other animals That would suit the pygmy theme. The toucan seemed an obvious choice!
Grunter - This pygmy sized scavenger is one of the fastest and slipperiest animals on the plain. It looks really nasty with two big tusks and hairy crest, but runs from danger like a baby. However if cornered it can do damage as it tries to escape. They can also be dangerous if part of a large stampeding herd. Also one of the "real" animals - I like the warthog, as it is so ugly but likable. Again it could be a food item if required
Some other ideas that might suit the plains, is the zebra and impala, but I don't know how to fit them in??

Wooziedrink
This strange concoction is made from Blooberries or yum-yum root by Bonerattlers to enter the spiritworld. However when other pygmies get a hold of it they get all woozie as the name implies. Usually the young warriors revel the night away However after a night with wooziedrink they usually can not even leave their huts the following day.
Really does not have any sort of mechanical application to the gamem but I liked the name.

I like the name too, but maybe we should introduce;
Wooziefruit: A fruit rich on sugar, that is easily fermented.
