Perhaps a 'Junk yard' terrain tile? Some people like to drive out to old gravel pits and empty lots on the edge of town and dump sofas, refrigerators, junk cars- which could all be combined for a nifty junk fort or used seperately as cover. The junkyard is such a cool idea! I bet that brainy kid goes there to get the raw materials for his vehicles.

Great!! Now I have an idea for a totally new expansion!! I do know what you mean about finding old sofas, cars and junk forts in the suburban bush. I grew up next to bushland and all of those things were there.

Actually my crew was once tasked with cleaning an "empty" lot in the middle of town and once we knocked down the grass (2-3' high, perfect for child warriors) we found all of those things. As well as homeless huts made from plastic sheets, branches and cardboard boxes. When we were done it looked like a park, but there was a lot of stuff hiding in those four acres. Another potential adventure locale would be unfinished development projects. 1)Here in Anchorage there is a 30 story building that was never finished and the lower levels were boarded up to keep out trespassers...but the second level only had plastic sheeting on the windows...The lobby level had high ceilings and the beginnings of an elegant foyer...with water dripping and snow drifts blowing in down the stairs from the second level...then there were stairs that led to an underground tunnel to another derelict building... 2) There's also a major apartment complex on the edge of town in a similar state, but you have to climb some fences to get to it. Dungeon Plungin' meets Splatball.

Unfinished development projects would be cool, especially as all the items are indoors. Interior walls, doorways, tables, stairs etc. not to mention all the cool stuff that could relate to specific building types (lobby benches, decorative fountains and lift shafts).
SBSW (Splatball - Suburban Wilderness) is next on the agenda, however I may put up a poll as to what expansion people would like to see next. I also need to think of new unit types or rules to make the next lot of expansions different from the original game!

Perhaps, to keep in the children theme, call it "Arrested Development". For "Mall Legends" you could have a multi-level indoor setup and even have go-kart and wagon races in the main halls and up and down the escalators and around the fountain for a lap. "Look, there's a sale on yogurt." "The new Chrysler's are in early this year."

What about a building site. As a kid we used to play on the housing lots still being developed on our estate, foundation trenches were great for ww1 trench raiding games, the piles of hardcore, soil and sand etc made excellent ramps for bikes too, and there were all those piles of bricks, timber and other assorted construction stuff to hide behind!!!
A hill sounds cool too. If you had one big enough you could have a scenario called king of the castle whereby the objective was to be the team with the most/only units occuping the hill at the end of the game!!

Dungeon Plungin' is taking most of my time at the moment, but I do have the figures for suburban wilderness, thanks to Bryn. Too many projects and not enough time!

Work is still being done, but my time is split over so many projects. I should put a priority on this one as Suburban Wilderness just needs a little polish to be complete!

Just a minor progress report to say I have completed the new units and started on the Terrain for Splatball - Suburban Wilderness. Rules for everything are complete but I still need to generate some scenarios and finalize the rulebook layout. ETA is still probably a month away . . .but you never know!
