Hello, (below is under current V3 rules)
I'm probably missing something important but the Level advancement rules don't appear to match the character creation/spells section or I've missed something huge .
When character advances from say level 1 -2 they recieve 12 points to spend.
raising a stat by one costs the cost of the new stat eg ATK raised from 2 to 3 costs 3 points.
But how do you buy more spells or additional special abilities as these cost in the realm of 25-200 points? My biggest concern here is purchasing access to additional Spell schools by buying Magic School again for a mage concept character. If I'm understanding correctly even saving every point they couldn't gain access to a second school before around lvl7...help? Likewise they could buy 1 additional spell around lvl3 if they saved every point?
My best guess at this stage is that points in the advancement table should be multiplied by around 25 (for lvl2 instead of 12 character receives 300) and same for advancing a stat eg raise from 2 to 3 costs 3x25 points, this would then enable the characters to buy additional special abilities/spells although it may provide to many points??
Other Smaller questions
1. Should the crossbow be a two handed weapon?
2. Can those using ranged weapons shoot over/through friendly characters? at the moment we're running on a yes.
3.During character creation it reads that you can only select 1 special ability? I maybe reading that first line to literally .
Sorry for all the questions. These questions all came about when 4 of us sat down to create characters and just have a brief 1 room few monsters encounter. Overall we're liking the rules a lot.
Thanks for the clarifications
