I was thinking: how would you think it'd be if the default at character creation was to have LIF 2 and MAG 0, with the option to choose one magic type between arcane and divine at the cost of 1 LIF..? then the character's MAG stat would represent his ability to channel the chosen kind of magic; obviously this would mean there should be some kind of rewrite of the magic schools, with divine schools having most healing/buffing/debuffing effects, while arcane schools would have most damage/scrying/utility effects... I thought about this because as things are at this point, your personalization of the magic user only really means something at the beginning of the game, but on later levels any magic user finishes having direct damage, healing, utility and so on, bringing every one of them to be mostly similar... any thoughts..? EDIT: a quick spell that came to my mind: what about a scrying spell to be cast before opening a door, that lets the wizard to roll twice on the encounter chart and choose the results he likes most..?

Magic is actually on the list to get a major revamp. The schools will be less generic and more specific in their abilities. There will be some new schools added and the spell lists increased to include spells for higher level Heroes. Hopefully this will address most of the issues that people find with the current magic system.

this is awesome..! this way the same divine/arcane matter can be addressed by just choosing a more specific magic school... is there any way to help in the spells brainstorming..? just ask if you need some kind of feedback or so... also, is there any date we can expect for a rules revision..? I know that life always comes first, but also a generic date would be great...
