This is also on the Yahoo Groups forum.
I just recently discovered Dice Chucker in a search for free RPGs. Just ran a quick game with my two boys yesterday. ages 12 and 9. They loved it! We did kind of a standard FRP. They were peasant shepards in a small village. A war started nearby and bandits showed up. They defeated the first group that came to shake down the people (using only slings and knives). Several bandits got away. Then had to go to a old broken down keep and find some weapons to defeat the sure to be returning bandits. They ran into a deserting soldier and talked their way out of a fight. Continued to the keep. There they were ambushed from inside the keep by three ghoblins with small bows. They took damage but closed and killed one ghoblin and chased two more upstairs to their boss, a rather large orc. After successfully defeating the large orc they continued to chase the remaining ghoblins to the roof. My youngest narrowly missed taking a bolt from a ballista, but truth and might prevailed! Afterwards they discovered a trap door leading to the basement of the keep and discovered a large spider (they both hate spiders) and the tomb of the long dead knight charged with maintaining the keep. Now more suitably armed they returned to their village and ambushed and defeated the next batch of bandits (more of them and more powerful).
They discovered they like Tough Dice and tried to use Advancement Dice (they each got one so of course didn't really help). They tried to use Battle Dice but did not get much luck. And they really learned to hate Jinx Dice!
I will probably be playing this with them once or twice a week until they get bored (which will probably be a very long time since this game has such huge potential to be a universal system).
