Hi from Italy. Some of you may already know me. I have just downloaded all the SBSL files, 'cause i plan do build it and play it with my kids. I have some request about it: 1) i plan to do foamcore base trays for the units, with slot to insert and remove the figures. To do that i'd like to have the grass texture of the board, but without the "squares", so i can draw on it, print a whole A4 page and cut my textured foamcore trays. There's any chance to have it? 2a) Command cards: there's a way to have them without text (or to have just the pictures inside), so i can translate them in italian? 2b) There's some about the SB vehicles: what should i do to have the in the SBSL scale? 3) Where is the "wagon" i saw in some post here? 4) From this thread: the links are all dead: any chance to find that minis? Thanks

Please see the attachment. This is a tessellated image, so you put multiple copies across and multiple copies down to create a larger image. I will see what I can do? It will probably be a few days as I will have to search what I have. . . I know it is half scale, but can't remember whether it was 50% (figure size) or 70% (print size). Again I will see what I can find out . . . As there were never any rules made for it, it was never posted as an actual file. I will see if I can post it somewhere??? I believe Shadowolf may have these somewhere Sorry for my limited ability to help quickly.

Many thanks to you both! Now i can print and cut everything.
Meanwhile, are the SBSL rules updated? i mean: there's anything that long term players have noticed/addressed/whatever that it is not in the PDF and that i should be aware of?
Thanks again.

Yes the SBSL rules have been updated once. The only thing I can think of that hasn't made it into the update is a "house rule" that allows the Armadillo and Battlewagon Command cards to ignore the rules for Road terrain (Units must stop before entering a road square.) I would be interested if you do find some unclear rules or errors!

Shaun, i'll tell you for sure if i find something "wrong".
As i usually do with non-italian rulebooks, i'm rewriting it in my language (this help me to not miss any point, and then i have a rulebook that my sons can read) and right now i have'nt found anything really wrong. The only things a bit obsucre are (pls note that i've not finished my "accurate reading process", so these may be dumb questions): 1) have i right understood that the Armadillo/Groundhog/badger cards does NOT requires that miniatures? So they're just "names" to let more units to act? 2) The command cards are not "Color related", right? It does not matter if the image show blue or red units, right?
two last things: a) i tell that i'm rewriting the rules (and not "translating") 'cause i like the "kid playing" flavour of the game, opposed to the more "serious" battle theme. I hope that it may appeal my daughter also, which does not like so much wargaming (but she can be really bloody in RPGs... strange thing) but, while i like the Armadillo/Badger look, i find them a bit out of the theme. i see no way kids can have that equipment... so i'm struggling to find a better card name/flavour while keeping the same effect.... any suggestion about this? b) What exactly means "runt"? i searched it on WordReference, but it have not so much sense in italian in this contest.... can you pls give the "the flavour", the "jargon" meaning of that word?
Thanks again

1) have i right understood that the Armadillo/Groundhog/badger cards does NOT requires that miniatures? So they're just "names" to let more units to act? Yes they allow more units to act together and move further while still initiating Combat. No they are not color matched - any side can use a command card. The Armadillo could be replaced with Battlewagons or possibly even push bikes at a stretch. They just give faster movement of more units. Push bikes would probably work well as a replacement. (Borrow Shadowolf's images!) The Badger and Groundhog can be replaced by a paint catapult or similar contraption? Paint-filled shoppping bags flying through the air. Really they are just an area effect weapon. Runt is the smallest and weakest animal in a group of offspring. A sow has a litter of piglets and the one who can't compete with the others to get fed, usually is smaller and less developed. The "Runt" of the litter. In our context the Runts are the kids with the standard splatmarker and no special abilities. They are the numerous but weaker unit. I hope this helps?

Got it what Runt mean. We have no literal translation of this, if not in some strict dialect (you may know, here each city has his own dialect which is really another language)... the italian word that may fit best is "Moccioso", which WordReference translate back in "snotty", adding somethins "bad" to the meaning. Anyway, thanks, Shaun for all the support... even the linguistic one

Another request: there's anyone that will like to draw a "Paint Catapult" and / or a "Paint trebuchet" (maybe built from a see-saw or a swing...)? I don't plan to build any figure for them (altough someone then may like to do it)... i just find the Badger/Groundhog support cards out of theme (thinking at kids in a playground) and so i'd like to replace that draws with these ones.... ... anyway. being able to build a minis for them, then can be "unmovable" pieces and maybe victory objectives.... .... thanks

I have made a pic of a 'Splatuchet' based on a pair of swings. It is a .psd file with transparent background, so you can put it on whatever background you want. Log in and get it at; drop.io/oversoul00password is splatball Hope you like it.
