well yeah, I can see that then again, playing on a non-mini set also reduces the relative width of the border, so it's kinda less noticeable that way... as soon as my head physician leaves me be with his "important" powerpoints I'm gonna take some photos of mini-DP an post them..!

You're not gonna let up on the lich king figs are you? ;D Well I said I was redoing them since they were done so long ago. Here is one I was saving till the rest were done but you can try him out as a taster and let me know how it looks printed out for you. He is a little different to the original www.flickr.com/photos/31222610@N02/4189737673/Paul

holy macaroni..! ;D what the heck, it seems that being a petulant pain in the ass repays your efforts sometimes..! that's too great, I even like this new lich king more than the first one..! saved and ready to be edited at mini-DP size..! oh, btw, even if it's obvious, I'm being sarcastic up there... about being a pain in the ass and that it repays you, I mean...

holy macaroni indeed! That's one great Lich! I can't wait to see your revamped figures! I'd also like if you could tell us about your drawing process. I reeeally like your artwork! ciabs: you know, a Sandy Claws mini would be awesome... maybe he lives in South Pole, with the Evil Penguins and the Devil Polar Bears... Hmmm...

I am afraid, even I like your new Lich King!!! (I had to say something! You have excelled yourself!) He looks very evil and sinister for the style. Which is a major feat in itself. I am definitely looking forward to you having more spare time.

...aaaand here we are with some in-game pics..! our brave heroes went to the ruins to try and save a fine warrior's soul, and had to fell an hideous troll in order to succeed, or die trying..! some of the stuff I prepared... here are our advendurers, delving deep into the ruins..! Slim the Thief opens a room flooded with monsters..! the same room will be the one to reveal a great key..!! after a cruel battle, with the help of a doppelganger created out of our warrior Marsh's sembiances by our water wizard Mallow, our heroes emerge victorious from the fight! at last our heroes reach the inner chambers, where a great door looms darkly, as to dare the party to cross it and meet their fate inside... and here the beast appears..! will our heroes manage to fell it..?? actually, yes, with a lucky blow of the doppelganger (3 hits, none of them soaked by the troll, rolled 5 on the life chart! ) the hideous troll is slain..! our heroes survived to see another dungeon..! anyway, I played this game with my girlfriend, who liked the game a lot, so we're definitely going to keep playing it... some consideration, as well as some questions: first of all, I have to say that minis and tiles both at 50% give some problems managing the action, I now plan on reprinting the tiles at 75% or so, in order to get some more space and not have large minis bumping everywhere... then onto the questions: does the doppelganger created by the spell have also the special abilities of the hero he's created from, or just the bare core stats..? also, how does the manna weapons work in detail? ie: I make a mag check, then add all the successes to the +1 the manna weapon grants by default or do I swap the successes to the default bonus altogether? if that's the case, trying to empower a manna weapon would only grant some benefit if at least TWO successes were given by the mag test, is that so? thanks in advance for the answers, I'll also think I'll start trying to get some adventures done myself, I'll keep in touch for tips and infos..! ;D

after some research I think that the best way to go with tile size is to magnify them at 150% their starting size (that's 75% tiles and 50% minis, starting with default sizes); I'm now going to reprint and refoamboard them all, it's gonna be a bit of work, but worth it nonetheless... a pic showing the reconstruction of the troll fight with the new measures: much better

Yep I agree that looks alot better.
When you have lots of action it means figures won't be getting in the way or getting moved every time you need to move something.

ciabs, those pictures are awesome. And it's great that your girlfriend enjoyed the game too! My boyfriend won't even try it Really, I must find/make the time to finish mounting my own set! Oh, and I hate to be that guy, but... after some research I think that the best way to go with tile size is to magnify them at 150% their starting size (that's 75% tiles and 50% minis, starting with default sizes); ... I told you so. ;D

heh, I know what you mean, that's not everytime the case, most often than not she's just going to say "no, thank you" to my gaming sprees..! ;D
anyway don't hate yourself, the moment you suggested that printing minis and tiles at different sizes could be better I actually thought to myself:"crappit, I can already see this guy's right and I'm gonna have to reprint all the tiles...", but I already had them ready and waiting so I resorted waiting a little more and went on finishing the rest of the set...
well, too bad they finished foamboard at the store where I buy it, I'm probably gonna wait till it comes back since during the holidays I'd have little to none time to work on the tiles anyway...

Well, at least you have a fully working set so I guess the heroes will be pretty busy during the holidays... ... even if they're bumping into each other. Happy Plungin!
